PARTNERSHIPS
Farmers Business Network & ADM Launches A New Joint Venture, Gradable, To Expand Their Technology Platform
Farmers Business Network (FBN) and ADM have joined forces to launch Gradable, a new joint venture that expands their technology platform. This initiative is designed to help farmers and grain buyers meet the growing market demand for sustainably produced grain.
Key Highlights:
Gradable serves over 20,000 farmers across 12 million acres.
The platform has analyzed 48 million acre-years of agronomic data and facilitates $30 million annually in incentives for sustainable farming.
The 50-50 joint venture will scale Gradable’s operations across ADM’s U.S. and Canadian networks, reaching more partners and customers in the grain supply chain.
Leadership Insight: "Gradable is rapidly becoming a leading platform for sustainability scoring at scale," said Steele Lorenz, the newly appointed CEO of Gradable. "We’re excited to welcome new partners and expand our reach in the grain-buying industry."

Cold Plasma: A Game-Changer for Water Treatment in Indoor Ag?
Understanding Cold Plasma Technology in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA)
Cold plasma technology, an ionized gas created through electromagnetic ionization, is emerging as a revolutionary tool in hydroponics within CEA. It enhances water treatment and plant health by producing plasma-activated water (PAW) that increases dissolved oxygen levels and introduces reactive oxygen species (ROS), which are crucial for disinfection and plant resilience.
Enhancing Hydroponic Systems with Cold Plasma
Cold plasma significantly boosts dissolved oxygen in hydroponic systems, promoting plant growth and nutrient absorption. It also offers low-energy, efficient water treatment, combating pathogens like Fusarium oxysporum and Pythium irregulare without synthetic chemicals.
Ingersoll Rand's Ion Solutions: A Cutting-Edge CEA Tool
Ingersoll Rand's Ion Solutions system integrates cold plasma technology into CEA, providing dual-mode disinfection and oxygenation. This system enhances irrigation water quality, offering a smart, cost-effective solution with IIoT remote control for advanced indoor farming.
Those looking for more information about cold plasma use in CEA can download the complimentary eBook “Unlock the Potential of Cold Plasma for Oxygenating and Disinfecting Water.”
